The Amplifying Voices team brings together people from various media and community development backgrounds. We are a very relational team and we share a common passion for accompanying communities as they exercise their rights and their voices.
Jon Hargreaves
As co-founder of Amplifying Voices in UK, Jon provides training and advice for partners doing Communication for Development (C4D) projects in Asia and Africa. A journalist by background, Jon has worked in broadcast media in Africa, the Middle East and Asia for over 25 years. Jon is passionate about overturning injustice.
Alex Stout
Alex is a co-founder, regular volunteer, and now board member of Amplifying Voices. Hailing from the Shetland Isles, Alex trained as an engineer on aeronautical communications systems, and moved to broadcasting in the 1990s. Alex provided training and technical expertise for Amplifying Voices projects in Africa and the Middle East.
Stephanie Mooney
Stephanie has worked in community development for over 20 years, primarily in African contexts, promoting strengths-based approaches in community-led initiatives. Steph has a knack for getting the right people in the room together to partner against poverty and injustice. She has an MA in Diplomacy, Law and Global Change, and a PGC in Conflict Resolution.
Johnny Fisher
Based in Duns, Scotland, Johnny is a Communication for Development advisor for partners in Pakistan and sub-Saharan Africa and heads up Amplifying Voices’ disaster response work. Johnny studied electronic engineering, theology and social policy, but not at the same time. He likes exploring new ideas and opportunities.
Iain Taylor
Iain’s business career revolved around insurance and finance. In retirement he works with a number of local charities primarily as treasurer of Splash, an organisation presenting Christian assemblies in West Sussex schools, as a member of the leadership team of his local church and as Business manager, Treasurer of Amplifying Voices.
Alice Stout
Alice provides communications support for Amplifying Voices. Alice has been working in the non-profit and charity sector since 2015. Though having studied literature at university, Alice plunged straight into the communications and marketing sector, working with a media network based in the Middle East and North Africa.
Our Board
Terry Edmondson
Chair
Terry Edmondson has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations and is currently serving as chair of the board for Amplifying Voices. Terry brings skills from over 30 years of experience in business as an HR Director, including strategic planning, reward & benefits management, and international stakeholder engagement. Terry is married with two adult children. He spent much of his own youth living in Germany and is deeply committed to serving communities and building relationships between people from different cultures.
Tusa Clark
Tusa Clark joined Amplifying Voices in 2023 as a trustee.
Born in Lusaka, Zambia, she grew up in Zambia, India and Tanzania before coming to the UK to study Economics and International administration, followed by a Masters degree in International Relations.
In the past, she worked for a large international charity in the UK and overseas, in various capacities including emergency response. This work took her to different parts of the world, such as Indonesia and Rwanda.
She currently works as a Mathematics and Economics teacher at a local school. Tusa volunteers for her church as a member of the Parochial Church Council and serves as a governor at another local school.

Chris Dunn-Coleman
Chris has been on the Board of Amplifying Voices (formerly HCR UK) since the beginning. He has been working in the UK charity sector since the late 1990’s, specifically services for homeless and marginalised
communities. Chris has managed projects that have provided practical crisis interventions as well as longer term supported housing schemes.
He has found it essential to work with a trauma informed approach and promotes psychologically informed environments.
Alex Stout
Alex joined the Board of Amplifying Voices in 2023. He brings a wealth of technical and project management expertise also bags of insight into Amplifying Voices operations. He knows all the good questions for the board to ask at operational updates!
Tim Miller
Tim is a chartered electronic engineer. After 10 years working in industry, he joined Feba Radio and spent 7 years in Zimbabwe followed by 13 years in the UK office. Tim has served on the boards of several charities. He is passionate about seeing positive transformation where Jesus walked; among people facing oppression and marginalisation.
