Community-centred media projects

Amplifying Voices works alongside local partners to deliver community-centred media projects in several countries, mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.

A typical community-centred media project brings together community members, service providers and media organisations to collaborate in development activities through creating audio content together.

The media production process gets people talking about issues raised by the community, and encourages people to listen to the personal stories, hopes and concerns, ideas and opinions of others.

Partners broadcast or distribute the audio content using trusted communication channels, further mobilising inclusive, community-led initiatives and amplifying their impact.

Tuanze biashara – alleviating poverty in eastern Kenya

Chitipa Voices – Malawi

First Response Radio
